Honest Review for Dubai Mediterranean Restaurant and Bar:
Dubai Mediterranean Restaurant and Bar located at the heart of the Madison downtown. This restaurant had options for outdoor seating. Due to heat we preferred seating inside though. For hookah section they have a nice big sofa. For dining area seating is not that comfortable.
To start with we ordered Moscow Mule and a cucumber cocktail. Bad luck, they were short of some ingredient for the mocktail, so my partner had to settle up with Virgin Mojito. Moscow mule was good, for a change they did add basil as well to the drink. Falafel came a little bit late. As a side on falafel we got 3 types of dips Hummus (made of chickpea and garlic mainly), BabaGanoush (eggplant, garlic and lemon), Mahamara (roasted peppers). Mahamara and BabaGanoush was exceptional. We finished the dips before falafel.
For main course we ordered a Chicken Kebab platter. Chicken Platter had 8-9 pieces of chicken kebab. Kebab was served with Yellow Rice, 4 pieces of Pita breads and salad. Kebabs were ok. Flavors din’t reach inside chicken pieces. Possibly they used frozen chicken pieces. For another meat platter also we had same problem. Other than lamb meat all of the pieces were bit chewy. Rice was tasty but I enjoyed Pita breads the most. Our vegetarian friend tried Potato Curry and Grape Leaves. Potato curry had small pieces of potato tossed with Cumin seeds and other seasonings. Grape leaves were something new we tasted. Grape leaves tastes like olive.
Call the restaurant prior, if you are in big group. Order main course along with appetizers only. Kitchen is slow.
